Cursor can build the whole landing page, but it can’t make the background video or the product teaser that goes in it. ByteDance’s Seedance isn’t built into Cursor either. Add AiWings as an MCP server once, and the Cursor agent can generate videos with sound and download them into your project.
What you need
- Cursor with Agent mode.
- An AiWings account (sign in with Google). Usage comes from your AiWings credits.
- About a minute.
Step 1: Add AiWings to Cursor
The fastest way is the one-click Add to Cursor button on the AiWings Cursor page. To set it up by hand, follow these steps.
- 1Add the config below to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (this project only).
- 2Open Cursor Settings → MCP and click Connect next to AiWings.
- 3Sign in to AiWings in the browser window and allow access.
- 4Check that AiWings shows a green dot and its tools are listed.

}Step 2: Ask the agent for a Seedance video
In Agent mode, describe the asset and name the model. The agent calls AiWings, runs Seedance and shows the video in the chat before it touches any files.
Use Seedance 2.0 to make a 6 second 16:9 loopable background video for the hero section: slow drifting clouds over a calm violet-lit city at dusk, no sound.Videos take a few minutes. The agent starts the job, waits about 40 seconds, and then the player in the chat keeps updating until your video is ready.
Bring your graphics to life
Seedance is also a good way to turn a still graphic from your project into a short loop or an intro. Point the agent at an image, describe only the motion, and it animates it. Real, unedited results. Each original image is on the left, and the video Seedance 2.5 made from it is on the right. Seedance adds sound too; it is muted here.

Step 3: Save it into your project
Once the video is ready, ask the agent to download it into your assets folder and wire it into the code in the same request. You review the diff like any other change.
Save that video to public/video/hero.mp4 and use it as the muted, looping, autoplaying background of the Hero section, with a dark overlay so the headline stays readable.Ask for the audio off when the video is only a background, and keep clips short so the file stays small.
Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 at a glance
Seedance is ByteDance’s video model. AiWings offers two versions, both with sound. Videos are billed per second, so cost depends on the length and resolution:
| Model | Resolutions | Length | 5 seconds at 720p | With a reference video | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 | 480p, 720p, 1080p, 4k | 4–15 seconds | 115 credits ($1.15) | 140 credits ($1.40) | Short clips up to 4K |
| Seedance 2.5 | 480p, 720p | 4–30 seconds | 145 credits ($1.45) | 605 credits ($6.05) | Longer clips, big reference sets |
Prices are at the top-up rate of $0.01 per credit, and plans include more credits per dollar. Text-to-video and image-to-video, including start frames, end frames and reference images, use the lower rate. Only a reference video, a clip you give the model to follow, uses the higher rate. Seedance 2.0 at 480p is 10 credits ($0.10) per second, which is the cheapest way to test a prompt before you spend more on a higher resolution.
Tips for app assets
- Test a prompt at 480p first, then re-run the version you like at 720p or higher.
- Ask for no sound on background videos so the file stays small and nothing plays unexpectedly.
- Keep background clips short and ask for slow, simple motion so they loop cleanly.
- Name files and folders in the request so the agent doesn’t guess.
- Use the aspect ratio your layout needs: 16:9 for a hero, 9:16 for a mobile story.
If something doesn’t work
- The agent says it can’t make them: check that AiWings is enabled in Cursor Settings → MCP and that you’re in Agent mode.
- AiWings shows a red dot: click Connect again and finish the sign-in in your browser.
- No tools listed: check that the URL in mcp.json is exactly https://aiwings.io/api/mcp, then restart Cursor.
- Out of credits: top up from your AiWings dashboard, then ask the agent to try again.
Bottom line
Cursor can’t make videos on its own, but with AiWings added as an MCP server, Seedance becomes part of your build: generate the asset, save it and use it in your code in one request. The same server also gives Cursor GPT Image, Nano Banana, Imagen and Seedream images.
FAQ
Can Cursor make videos natively?
No. Cursor can’t generate video on its own. You add Seedance with AiWings, then ask for a video in plain words.
How long does a video take?
Usually one to five minutes. The request waits about 40 seconds and then keeps updating in the chat, so you can keep working and the video shows up when it’s ready.
Do the videos have sound?
Yes. Seedance generates synced audio with the video, including speech, music and sound effects, and you can turn it off in the request.
Can I animate an image I already have?
Yes. Give it a start image and describe the motion. Seedance 2.0 takes up to 9 reference images, and Seedance 2.5 takes up to 30. Reference videos and audio are also supported and cost more per second.
Should I add it for one project or all of them?
Use ~/.cursor/mcp.json to add it to every project, or .cursor/mcp.json inside a repo to add it to that project only, for example to share the setup with your team.
